What is FamBasket, exactly?
A grocery list built for more than one shopper. Everyone in the household sees the same live list. Add an item, claim it so nobody buys it twice, mark it picked up, and everyone else sees the change right away.
Is FamBasket easy for less tech-savvy family members to use?
Yes. Turn on Accessibility Mode for larger text, higher contrast, and voice-first input, set individually for that person without changing anyone else's screen. It's never gated behind Pro. No download is required either, it works right in a browser.
Is FamBasket free to use?
Yes. Free covers up to 2 household members with live sync, item claiming, and undo, plus geofence alerts on 2 saved stores. Pro costs $2.99 a month per household, not per person, with a 14-day free trial.
How does claiming an item actually work?
Tap an item and it shows 'Claimed by [Name]' to the whole household right away, so two people don't grab the same thing at the store. It's a soft lock, not a hard one.
What happens if I delete something by accident?
Every delete comes with a 10-second undo that brings the item back for the whole household, not just the person who deleted it. After that window closes, deleted items still show up in the Activity feed.
Does FamBasket work when I have no signal?
Yes. You can still read the list and claim items with no signal. Any changes you make wait on your device and sync automatically once you're back online.
Is FamBasket available on iPhone and Android?
Yes. FamBasket is live right now on the web, iOS, and Android, all synced to the same account and the same list.
Is my family's data private?
Yes. We make money from an optional Pro subscription, not from your data. We never sell your grocery list, and we don't look at it in aggregate.
